Sorry, Narahari, but I'm not aware of any upcoming Atlanta area
Linux installation events in the near future.

However, in lieu of our ALE December meeting, we ARE having
another annual ALE Solstice Social event this coming Saturday,
and it is, in fact, being held in the North West area of Atlanta,
immediately North of Marietta (full details are on the <http://ALE.org>
site). Since playing "Stump the Graybeards" is part of the planned
activities, I invite you to bring your system and challenge the ALE
crowd to get it up and booting correctly by the end of the evening.

In the meanwhile, having followed your trials and tribulations in
this thread, I would suggest the FIRST starting place would be to
remove anything of Windoze from the equation. If you haven't tried
this already, disconnect the installed windoze disk and start with a
single drive for the Linux install. Consider that developers of Linux
distros specifically designed to be DEDICATED SERVERS, whether
media or web, may not waste a lot of their valuable time checking or
debugging dual boot desktop configurations. Also triple check
that the BIOS doesn't have any settings or OEM boot sector "restore"
gimmicks preventing you from booting to a Linux installation on
hard drive.

Once you get a successfully booting Linux system with the
one disk, you can connect the windoze disk as a second drive.
Because dedicated open source developers have selflessly
squandered thousands and thousands of man hours reverse
translating the obstructively proprietary secret languages of
the Mafia$oft thugs (without any published specifications
documentation or monetary compensation for their efforts),
windisease victims are able to mount and use the proprietary
windisease partitions and file systems and rescue any data
that is trapped there. With a few adjustments in the GRUB
configuration, you will probably get the dual boot working,
too. That someone has gone through all that work to
provide people with this Free Freedom of Choice is truly
something to be thankful for, don't you think?

And keep in mind that any time you run into a challenge in
using Linux, the blame goes entirely to Mafia$oft and their
corrupt corporapist cohorts for the black hole resource
vacuums that they intentionally create. Hold Mafia$oft
and the closed format media encryption moguls and the
DRM freaks and the patent trolls accountable for the massive
amounts of altruistic Linux development resources that must
be endlessly wasted in order to reverse translate their closed
source, intentionally obstructive proprietary software so that
it can be accessible to users of Free, Liberated Open Source
environments via Published Public Communication
Standards. Imagine the innovation and advancement that
becomes possible if those precious FLOSS development
resources could be invested directly into making Linux and
its software even better than the amazing Free-for-all,
Free TO All, technology all that it has already become
in spite of all the proprietary roadblocks!
