The Linux Users Group at Georgia Tech presents

"Cracking Wireless"
  by Ryan Curtin

Sep. 23rd, 2009, 7:00 PM
College of Computing Building, room 52

Overview:

What do you do when your ISP suddenly cuts out on you? Do you call them and
wait hours on hold to finally get through to a human being so they can tell you
they see no problems in your area? No! You crack your neighbor's wireless
password and hope they're on a different ISP!

This week's presentation will discuss the use of tools such as aircrack-ng,
wepcrack, and airsnort for cracking both WEP and WPA. The legal ramifications
of such cracking will be mentioned, as well a high-level glance at the theory
behind the cracking, with relevant references. Then, the use of these tools
will be demonstrated on a sample network.

Upcoming presentations:

  2009.09.30: Windows to Linux Roundtable
  2009.10.07: DDWRT

Hope to see you there!
