I'm still trying to decypher what is going on
with NS Word files being stripped from e-mails
going to people at Emory.

One theory expressed here is that the Emory
virii scanners are stripping *.doc files that
contain nasty bits and pieces.

As part of my continuing efforts to trouble-shoot
this mess, I sent off a test message to my wife's
account at Emory over the weekend. It contained a
24k JPG and a 29k DOC file. The DOC file was stripped
from the email and the JPG came on through.

The DOC file was created on her work machine at Emory (Mac)
and it _is_ possible that it is contaminated with
something. But I have no way of finding out what that
might be.
I am willing to send this rebuffed file to anyone who
can help me figure out _why_ it is being rejected by
Emory's servers.

Can anyone help?

Sean
