[ale] Sound problems in Debian 2.6 kernel

What is turned on in your kernel config under sound? (perhaps you could attach 
the .config file)
Does sound work as root?
Does dmesg say anything about sound? (When you boot up, Alsa will print out 
any cards It detected. (Im pretty sure =P)
