[ale] 64 bit AMD Opteron CPU's and multimedia

I saw an article on this either at Slashdot, Anandtech.com, or
Open-Mag.com discussing Opteron 64-bit vs Xeon 32-bit.  They compiled an
open-source image-rendering software package on both 32-bit opteron and
64-bit opteron, and the 64-bit version ran about the same speed, but
gave much more detailed images.  The difference was amazing.

I can't compare other AMD processors as all I run are Opteron and Xeons.
