Way Late,

I hope this is a DLT drive and not a DAT.   DLT drivers are very fast in SCO. Backing up 4
to 5 Gigs in under 20 minutes including the verification.  The Company I work for uses
Lone Tar.  Some setting you can check are the SCSI BIOS speed, Block Size, and let the
hardware do the compression.  I am not an expert on this, but I do prefer doing a recover
on a Unix box over that other OS.
