I've had some issues with serial modems as well.  Some that don't get 
all the caller id info, others that get it sometimes and not others.  As 
I understand it, the caller id info is sent around the 2nd ring, so you 
want to tell getty to answer the phone after 3 rings or more.

I didn't have to buy my radio from a specific company to listen
to FM, why doesn't that apply to the Internet (anymore...)?
