[ale] Running Windows programs on Linux (with sound support)

The easiest and fastest way (though probably not cost effective; check
eBay) is to get yourself a copy of VMWare. It has full sound and network
support, and all that jazz.

It's an excellent program, though the company kinda sucks from a customer
service standpoint.

I have a still-sealed copy of VMWare 2.0 for Windows NT/2000 that was
given to me. Since I don't run Windows, I called up VMWare and asked them
if I could swap it out for a copy of VMWare 2.0 for Linux. They
absolutely, flat-out refused - without giving me a reason. The first
person I spoke with said she didn't see a problem with the swap, but she'd
have to talk to some people. The person who called me back said it's a
license violation, but when I said it was still in the factory
shrink-wrap, he said "Oh, she didn't tell me *that*."

Then he pretty much said "Too bad. The answer is still no."

Which reminds me... anyone want to buy a still-sealed copy of VMWare 2.0
for Windows NT/2000? (Yep, I STILL haven't unwrapped it.)
