[ale] 20 gig install problem

RH does not ask anything about LBA. Regarding the setup paramers for LILO, I can not remember if the "linear" option is a check box or an "append" statement...

Does anyone remember what I should enter here?

John

I went through this with a Maxtor 15GB and RH 6.1. LBA comes up twice:
once in BIOS, and once as an installation option when loading RH (for 6.2,
anyway). Like Mr. Kinney said, be sure to use LBA. The option with
installation was to 'use linear'.

BTW, if you get a message that says 'verifying DMI pool' and then an
infinite stream of 1's and/or 0's, it's a drive issue and has nothing to do
with DMI. This is basically LILO telling you it can't find an image to boot
from on the specified boot disk. The resolution is to have correct BIOS
setts in the first place.
