[ale] Blank Screen

Has anyone experience this monitor problem?

Background info:
One PC dual OS; M$ (win95) and Linux (rh 6.2). Family members use win95
and I use Linux.

Problem:
On some some occasions when I bootup in Linux and GNOME is next to run,
the screen goes blank (black screen).  Ctrl Alt Backspace has no
effect.  I reboot and then all works find.

Any solution?
