[ale] Cable modems and total-web

Yes. We actually had a long talk. Basically here is what happens:

1. I call support
2. They dispatch Cableevision
3. Cablevision dispatch sub-contractor
4. Sub-contractor shows up 24-72hrs later.
5. Sub-contractor tweaks outside settings at box and e-mails convergence of
completion
6. The modem should work now.

Pros: Don't know any.
Cons: Convergence has no info on when sub-contractor shows up. They
state that rarely does the contractor need to go into the house. I do not
need to
be there. Each dispatch takes around 3 days to fix and contractors do not
work on Sundays.

I guess I expect too much from residential internet access. Maybe if I paid
the
business price I can get 24hr uptime.
