[ale] Kernel 2.3.9 compile errors

2.3.7 introduced lots of filesystem changes, including
changes to functions (names, parameters, types, and number).

Even if 2.3.7 compiled, the kernel mailing list had text
that warned one not to use it unless you wanted your
filesystem corrupted.

ext2 was the first fs fixed (IIRC).  fat/msdos are very
low priority (FYI).  Others are still being worked on.

Check the kernel mailing list archives for the latest
info.
