[ale] Samba and printers

I have a small local area network running at home that has Win95 machines
sharing devices from my RedHat Linux 4.2 machine (2.0.30). I have no
problem access files from the linux machine but if I try to print I get a
unreadable mess for a printout. I am using a Hewlett Packard DeskJet 540
(without the color kit) connected directly to the parallel port on the Linux
machine. I can print from linux just fine. If anyone has any suggestions
please let me know. This has become the thorn in my side. Below are parts
of my smb.conf file that I think are relevant.

[global]
    printing = bsd
    printcap name = /etc/printcap
    load printers = yes
;this is only a small portion of the gloabal section
[hp540]
     security = server
     path = /var/spool/lpd/lp
     printer name = lp
     writable = yes
     public = yes
     printable = yes
     print command = lpr -r -h -p %p %s

Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help,
Jeff
