I've done this with no problems with my HP600c ...  make sure that you
are using a 'raw' printer under your linux box...  I have postscript
drivers for linux printing, a raw device for remote printing (the windows
box will send just hwat the printer needs, you need NO filters), and a
'ascii' type device, which inserts CRs where I need them.  If that's a
little confusing (I'm the world's worst poster), gimme a mail and I'll
send you the relavent pieces of my /etc/printcap and smb.conf .
