[ale] programming question

I have a smartphone. It's still pretty stupid, though. Not up to "military
intelligence" level yet. How did "can surf the interwebs" become "smart"?

That said, I have a Linux based computer in my pocket with more than 10
times the capability of the first Linux computer I ever had and I can
access a huge chunk of the knowledge of humanity while stopped in traffic.
And yet, I still watch cat videos.
