[ale] Comcast Business service

Very similar experience. Though my cable's not buried.
I have an 8 block. Had a 16 block for a while, but some fire wall and proxy updates allowed me to go back to an 8 block.
Added comcast phone a while back. It just works, and it was a wash on cost once I canceled AT&T (bonus...).
I've had on problem with it in the last 5 years, and it was due to new cabling in an adjacent area.
During the checks, they gave me an updated modem and increased my speed from 30 to 50 at no charge.
When I have called, I get a person that knows what they are doing with an accent I can understand, (Canadian or southern, usually).
When I had the one problem, I had a chat with nice woman about the router configuration, and even learned a few things.
I wouldn't go back to residential service on a bet.

I've been trying to get IPv6 on my business-class for years. Not ready, they
keep saying. I checked a few weeks ago - no joy - again.

I was told I had to have their equipment because I have a small subnet. My own
router handles all the public IPs just by taking them. The SMC router
automatically goes into bridge mode. Plus it offers 10.x.x.x addresses for some
other devices I have at the edge that I didn't want on any of my internal networks.

The ISP service has been stable here for years. About every 7 yrs, the
connection gets a little iffy - a tech comes out and does tests, then runs a
new, larger cable, which lays across the yard and driveway for 3 months until I
call to complain about kids tripping on it. A few days after the complaint they
bury it, less than an inch deep. ;(
