We had a few F40's. Took one in the back of my car to our Charlotte office on a
Saturday morning. Plugged it in, setup the networking and tested a few things -
everything seemed to work, so I left.

Come Monday morning, the local people tried to bring up the primary development
software (from IBM) that machine was to be used for - the license, which worked
in Atlanta, wouldn't work there. Everything else was working. The local guy
there, figured out that 1 of the CPUs had come loose and that CPU was the
primary as far as licensing was concerned. Called support, they reseated the
PowerPC chip and all was well.

Moral of that story, it does matter which side you lay an F40 on to fit into a
hatchback. ;)

CMOS batteries were important to thej RS/6000s too, but that is a different story.
