[ale] adobe acrobat reader for Linux is no more?

That it is. Still has dependency issues with libpangox being the hard one.
Pango has "moved on" and even the pango-compat install lacks the
libpangox-1.0.so.0 that answers to the acroread binary correctly.

Like most things adobe, they've dropped support for Linux. The current
version of reader is 11. The last Linux version was 9.5.5 and that seems to
be about 6 years ago.
