it makes perfect sense, but I made no extra options. I ran
grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.conf

then you run
grub2-install --force /dev/sda

reboot, and, the 3.17 isn't there..

grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.conf
Generating grub configuration file ...
Found linux image: /boot/vmlinuz-3.17.1-304.fc21.x86_64
Found initrd image: /boot/initramfs-3.17.1-304.fc21.x86_64.img
Found linux image: /boot/vmlinuz-3.16.1-301.fc21.x86_64
