[ale] black screen of death- Chrome

wow, it happened last night out of the "blue" :-0)
I fired up google.com/maps and the map flashed for a second, then the
screen went BLACK!!!! flushed the cache, restarted... same deal!
this is fedora 20 amd_64 with ATI video card. googled... looked, finally
found the answer, I had to turn of hardware acceleration!
 what the hey!
