Start with basics of how Linux gui desktop is similar to other systems then
show how it's different and why it's better and show where it fails, too.

Basic stuff like how to get online, how to play multimedia. How to find
applications from the desktop. What the basic ones are and how they are
similar and different.

Eventually you get to the meat-n-potatoes with command line. (point 'em to
jimkinney.us for beginning sysadmin stuff - I'm adding more)
