[ale] Arch Linux, they've screwed it up

I've looked into Slackware. I think that is going to require more
maintenance than I have time for.

I installed Sabayon into a VM. So far, it's looking like a good fit.
Starts off with a couple more services enabled than I would like (just
a test of how "base" the install is for me), but they're pretty easy
to disable. The binary package manager seems to be okay. It doesn't
look like it has an equivalent of `apt-cache show <package>` other
than `equo search <package>`, and that doesn't give many details.
