[ale] SATA PCI card or external USB enclosures?

I'll take a look at the Vantec units.  I see they have some JBODs in 
addition to single drive boxes.

The box I had was a Bytecc with no fan.  Worked well for about two years 
and then just up and died.  Then again, it may have been damaged by a 
failing Belkin USB hub.  That hub is fully dead now (and gone of course).
