[ale] Using mutt with multiple outbound aliases

I finally got around to setting postfix/courier up on my server but I'm trying to use ted-lists at xy0.org for my mailing lists to keep my prefered email address (take a guess) off of public mailing list archives to reduce spam. I used a neat plugin for Thunderbird to accomplish this previously with another email address which would change the from address once the recipient was entered. I would like to accomplish the same thing under mutt but short of editing the "From:" header in the compose window I haven't been able to figure out how to do this. Does anyone know of a way to set up either a keyboard macro or of some plugin which makes switching From: addresses easier to do reliably?

I hope to eventually go back to using thunderbird once I can figure out what's wrong with my imaps/smtps settings which is preventing it from connecting but mutt run in an ssh session on the server is the best I can get for right now.
