[ale] More on LEDs...

Hi Adrya,

Thanks for those links. About the time your message came in, I was starting to search online because I felt the 2-3 bulbs that autozone had were a pitiful representation of the market. I was right. Your note inspired me to look even more. I like the idea of the bulbs you found and particularly that they have an almost omnidirectional light pattern, which may solve my particular problem.

I don't know for sure if I want to use the specific bulbs you mentioned yet. The bulb I'm trying to replace puts out about 400 lumens, using 27 watts in its incandescent form. So, I'd like to find one at least that bright. The power consumption should end up being about 1/5 of the incandescent. So, I'm not sure which bulb I want to use yet.

I just spent the last 30 minutes googling 1157 (lamp OR bulb) led replacement.

I'll share my results with everyone. There are tons of choices out there.

*** Disclaimer *** Warning *** The Catch *** Note *** See Here ***

There were ONLY 2 criteria for the following websites that I'm listing. Other than the last one, which Adrya already mentioned, they had to come up in the search I did, and the name had to be interesting. THAT'S ALL! I know nothing about them. They could be scammers, thieves, and robbers, for all I know. Let the buyer be ware.

However, this list should get anyone looking for replacement leds going for a while. This is mainly but not exclusively related to automotive bulbs. Maybe later, I'll do a similar search for home bulbs.

Sincerely,

Ron
