[ale] OT: What the hell is XSS in Comcast land?

That's what the 2nd tech who I was on chat with tried to do. I could see
it reboot 4 times before she came back and indicated that she had tried
4 times and it would not go into bridge mode. I also can't reset back to
factory so that I can take care of my admin password problem.

I had also found an email contact for Arris which is right here in
Suwannee, and I was floored that someone had actually responded today.
They indicated that it sounded like the modem was defective that all
that I had done and what I described that Comcast support had done I
should have been able to regain access to the admin and she probably
should have been able to put it into bridge mode.

Thanks for the link, it definitely looks like it should help. I plan on
following up tomorrow, and yeah my wife quickly reminded me that I did
have problems with their support on weekends that I usually do
eventually get someone who knows more than reboot, shutdown and unplug
the PC, now plug it back in and boot up Windows.
(my response to all that):Uhh, I have Linux, not Winblow$....
Momentary silence "Oh, you don't have Windows, sorry we can't help you,
Windows is the only real OS... "
REALLY?!?! Ok a little over the edge, but eventually someone would get
on their that really knew the *nix world and considered PCs running that
other OS as toys.
