Hi Mike T,

I'm going to have to look into Tor. I've heard about it but haven't used it.

Bouncing through my home network won't work if they're tapping into Comcast. I think I'd rather use a commercial vpn with exit points in other areas. The problem is doing that for all my pc's without paying a fortune. Maybe I could bounce to my home then to the commercial vpn. I'm so confused 8-). I think JD mentioned using a custom router firmware as an vpn endpoint. I haven't had time to mess with this in any detail.

Other things I've heard say the spooks target YOUR data for scrutiny even more if you're using tor or the data is encrypted. I think they particularly like to focus on tor exit nodes. They may even be running some.

Steve requoted a tweet that he got - "I have nothing to hide from people I trust."

I totally trust that the NSA is working to protect our national security. However, I don't trust that they did or will exercise proper restraint in protecting the rights of the "innocent until proven guilty".

Sincerely,

Ron
