That's very cool. Glad the FCC is taking a stand for consumers. The data plans are still very expensive. I have the Verizon JetPack and they charge $60 / month for 3 GB of data. I was using that for my tablet when I was traveling, and it was very hard to stay under 3 GB. That pretty much means no media streaming at all, just web and email. Consequently, I don't use the JetPack when I'm not traveling. I just search for wifi locally.

Here is a cool resource for pay as you go data that I heard about on the This Week in Computer Hardware podcast. However, if you use lots of data, it still adds up. This runs on the Sprint network and is marketed through Ting.

Ron

Please excuse my potential brevity.

(To whom it may concern. My email address has changed. Replying to former
messages prior to 03/31/12 with my personal address will go to the wrong
address. Please send all personal correspondence to the new address.)

(PS - If you email me and don't get a quick response, you might want to
call on the phone. I get about 300 emails per day from alternate energy
mailing lists and such. I don't always see new email messages very quickly.)
