Fiserv seems to have quite the Linux recruiting pipeline, flowing for 
2-3 years it seems.  Any idea why the HR bandwidth is so high, other 
than perhaps that 7000 servers seems like an awfully high number?

Qualifications:



Understanding and troubleshooting connectivity between apache and java
containers

Strong understanding on system and application monitoring concepts and
prior implementation experience (nagios preferred)
Enterprise level Linux distribution experience. Our system is RHEL,
but will welcome experience with other distributions such as Debian,
CentOS, or Fedora.
Shell and Perl scripting experience
Experience with troubleshooting basic network and application
connectivity: reading netstat output, layer 2/3/4, etc. is a must
Familiarity with VMWare based environments
Experience with load balancing web applications both across and within
data centers

Preferred:


IBM Websphere MQ or ActiveMQ experience on Unix / Linux platforms is a plus
Experience with cloud based deployments is a plus (EC2, Google App Engine)
Experience with java application containers (Resin preferred, also
Tomcat, Weblogic, etc.)

Overall Responsibilities:


Troubleshoot complex application and system performance problems
across multiple tiers
Receive escalated support tickets from tier 1 operations, resolve
these tickets and look for root cause
Lead technical conference calls in outage situations - drive the
overall call and resources to resolution
Deploy applications to production, confirm proper operations
Work with development teams to document and automate deployment
procedures for handoff to tier 1 team
Install and upgrade Apache versions. Experience with custom
configurations required.
Set up and configure apache web server, build rewrite rules, install
and configure apache modules
Applying operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
Install and configure new java software such as Resin, Tomcat, Weblogic.
Perform tuning of java applications and JVM health
Work with Development teams to onboard new applications, configure
monitoring, update and approve documentation and adhere to standards
