[ale] sms via email from a computer

Don't miss that mess at all!

I set up modems to dial out to a paging service to send "Please help me!"
messages. It was a nightmare.

thus _all_ telecommunications is IP based now where possible. I know pagers
are still around but cell phones clobbered them.

Once could argue that the crackberry is an overpriced two-way pager....
