I didn't notice anything. I have noscript running in Firefox, which
prevents flash, javascript, and java from running until and unless I
trust the site. At the time I copied the web address, I hadn't trusted
the site. It was solid as a rock, and perhaps also non functional to a
point. Maybe that's a good thing. Of course, since anyone can put up a
website and claim anything, some sites put up enticing ads and, when
people visit with unrestricted browsers, they get viruses. Having said
that, I have a slight reason to trust this site, a referral from someone
at the meeting I was at, and no obvious reason to mistrust it. By
default, my Firefox doesn't allow any scripting, so that's always
disabled for new sites I visit. I would probably have to trust it if I
wanted to buy anything, so the ordering system will work. I have
noticed lots of sites tend to abuse scripting / flash to make your
experience unfriendly. Of course, I don't like screaming flashing ads
on TV either. Remember 20 years ago (1992 ish) when virtually every
site you visited had a FLASHING banner ad. UGH, bad memories. The only
thing worse than such visual abuse is when the site also starts playing
sounds / music you hate and you cannot turn it off.

PS - Observing that 1992 was 20 years ago really makes me feel old,
since I was a child of the 60's and 70's. I try to limit my buying of
technology books to those under 5 years old. I keep having to ratchet
up the copyright date that I look for. Just when I was getting used to
avoiding books prior to 2000, now I have to avoid books prior to 2007.

Sincerely,

Ron

call on the phone. I get about 300 emails per day from alternate energy
mailing lists and such. I don't always see new messages very quickly.)
