[ale] gnome3. I give up.

Thank you Jim for the review.  I've been working-up a new system for my
desktop and have been listening for reviews of Gnome3.  The more I see
of what's going on with Unity and Gnome3 the more I think I'll stick
with Gnome2 (my preference).
