[ale] java frustrations

I suspect it's that /etc/alternatives that's screwing things up.

What does 'ls -l /usr/bin/java /etc/alternatives/java' say?

If it's not pointing the the JRE you expect, use (in Ubuntu)
update-java-alternatives

My ubuntu 10.4 firefox 3.6.13 gets the plugin
from /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.22/jre/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so and does
not use a symlink.
