About the Talk
tmux is a terminal multiplexer. Much like GNU screen. Terminal
multiplexers are a great utility for Unix and Linux sysadmins. They
allow sysadmins to start
long-running tasks on remote machines, terminate the SSH session to
that machine, then connect to the machine again and resume watching
the task or check its
results very easily. They also allow sysadmins to run several shell
sessions within a
single virtual terminal, this can act as a major boost for
productivity in the shell.
