[ale] server troubles (again) - OT Analogies

I have a Quadra 950 and one of the drives has A/UX installed. It also has Debian Sarge (3.1) which was the last release for the m68k arch. I used this box to fix the SCSI driver and some of the Ethernet drivers some years ago!

When I called one of the main guys that made DB/C and told him what I wanted to do he said using the Apple Quadra 950 for our app was a bit like using a Ferrari to pick up garbage.

I was able to install the System 7 interpreter on the System 7 side and our application code on the A/UX side and actually get it running. Never having been an Apple fan I'll have to say I was impressed at how truly "seamless" this was. The downside for me though was Apple support. The A/UX techs didn't know System 7 and the System 7 techs didn't know A/UX.
