[ale] Boot script becomes a zombie?

I think I see what is going on here. At some point during the
execution of the "@reboot" cron process something is trying to send an
email. But sendmail is hanging up for whatever reason and causing the
whole process tree to get jacked up.

Time for some digging. Thanks guys.
