Well, the old thing I have, not sure it still works, but I should drag
it out and and test it, my Atari800 XL. It be cool to have a meeting
were we can show off our old computers.

Have you tried SUSE Studio? Need to create a Live CD,  an app you want
to package and distribute , or create your own linux distro. Give SUSE
