[ale] copiers: one more thing to be paranoid about

What gets me is they know it's a security hole and graciously offer to
sell you something to automatically erase copies - seems like they could
get sued for doing that.   Sounds a bit like a protection racket.  "Nice
little hard drive you have here, too bad if anything were to happen to
it."

I'm curious about this.  Must be a pretty large drive.  Think about it. 
Just last night, someone copied a document for me that I know is at 
least 200 pages. Further, why would it be necessary to retain all such 
copies?  Certainly it must purge older documents to make room for newer 
ones?
