[ale] Need help with DTP, printing Brochure mode, 2 pages per side, 4 pages per sheet

OK. I dug up an 18 page M$ word file from somewhere and printed as a
two-sided brochure. Started with standard portrait format letter paper
for the document. file->print->properties and set orientation to
Landscape, duplex to Short Edge (flip). Hit OK then on Options set
Pages area to left pages, right pages, and brochure all checked. OK,
OK (twice) and it printed out nicely. The only formatting oddball is
the new "top" is too close to the edge so there will need to be some
margin tweaking or better, adjust the original layout to be a similar
height/width ratio as the final size.

Once this was done, I reset all the printer setting back to normal so
I wouldn't scream next time I printed something and washed my hands
and boiled my eyes from the M$word contact!

>> If I start with page 1, and go through odd, it looks fine for pages 1, 3, 5, all the way through 61. But the even sheets seem exactly opposite of what I want. Should I have flipped the pages after printing odds, reversed the sort (starting from the last page instead of the first) and printed even? Is the mirror mode I should look at?
>>
>> Anyone printing brochure mode in PDF that can help me out? (I think I'll try a simple 6 page document to see if I cna figure out sort order next - doing it wiht a 123 page booklet is kinda goofy)
