[ale] suexec with Apache

One of my servers died and I'm in the process of converting over to
CentOS 5.4.

I have many homes with ~/public_html and some of these even have CGIs.
I can't seem to get suexec to work

[root at vm-dev httpd]# grep suexec /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf 
LoadModule suexec_module modules/mod_suexec.so
[root at vm-dev httpd]# httpd -l
Compiled in modules:
  core.c
  prefork.c
  http_core.c
  mod_so.c

Is there something I forgot to do?
