I'm using one called "pTerm" for iPhone, and the keyboard stays up and  
you can type in anything you want.  When I bought it, it was $1.99.   
It's $4.99 now, and it was worth every penny.

I use it to manage my website when I'm on tour.  Have you checked it  
out?
