[ale] two sata drives fail at the same time?

More on this.  I've checked with the WD website, both drives are still 
under warranty.

Here's the bizzare part.  I've removed both drives, placed them in an 
external encloser and I can mount and read both.

So, now I'm thinking a problem with the motherboard?  It doesn't make 
sense since I've tried two different SATA interfaces (add on card, and 
motherboard interface) and get the same result with both, no boot.  If I 
disconnect the drives, the machine boots, looking for a cd.  With them 
connected, I don't even get bios, nothing.
