[ale] no right-click menu

I'm running Kubuntu Intrepid Ibex and it's making updates left and right. But 
after making some updates yesterday, I no longer have a right-click menu 
anywhere I use my mouse, neither on the desktop nor within any application. 
The xorg.conf file hasn't changed in several weeks, so the difference isn't 
there. Does anybody have any ideas on where else I should look?
