[ale] X over ssh to linux box using putty?

VNC works well (although it can be a bit slow) and can be tunneled through
an ssh session (google up vnc over putty. It's not too complicated to set up
the tunnels).

FreeNX (http://freenx.berlios.de/) is also a very good choice as it uses a
highly compressed X server connection method (x-server on your local end and
only the new X calls are sent over - Think 'X can work over a dial-up
line!').
