[ale] Trouble with Today's Students

I have to agree with you that the trouble with today's students is lack
of parenting. And, yes, my wife is a teacher, too. Actually, she's
been on both sides: she was a high-school science teacher [mainly
chemistry], then was in administration as the Science Coordinator for
the entire county school system, and recently as a consultant. We both
have three degrees and, at age 60, she is going back to school to get
her Ph.D. in Science Curriculum Development. She's a damn good teacher
and wants to influence the thinking of science teachers while they are
still undergraduates, rather than after they are already out and in the
teaching profession.

I guess that's why I love Linux and Bash and open software so much:
there's always something more to learn. I am a retired LAN
administrator and learn something new every day.
