[ale] Ongoing vim vs. emacs

Since I get to introduce Linux to a lot of new users as they come thru
the lab, I naturally show them vi and explain they need to learn it.  I
never mention emacs.  Anyone do this but demo emacs and never mention
vi?  Just curious,
