Oooh, this would make a great ALE Central meeting, audience
participation must be mandatory. :-)

Seriously, the system is tilted towards you entering the job market
with less then adequate employment information, specifically wrt HR
issues and compensation.

It took me years to realize that you could ask for mandatory first
class travel during the hiring process. ;-)   Also, compensation means
different things to different people.   Some might need a steady
salary, others might prefer a bonus based plan.

My advice to you would be to locate an employment coach, preferably a
related family member that you know will give you quality advice.
