[ale] hardware to back up a Dell laptop

1. If it supports Ethernet, back up over your LAN.  You could use tar to
   stdout piped to ssh to cp stdin over the network.

2. Get a laptop IDE disk to normal IDE cable (about $5 at Frys).  Then
   remove the disk and connect to a desktop and back up.
