[ale] Weird problem with Red Hat EL 5 on MacBook Pro

THought I'd post my solution, provided via the mactel-linux list. 
Adding: noapic irqpoll acpi=force

To the kernel boot parms resolved both the keyboard and cdrom/dvd issues.
