[ale] looking for vitage computer collectors

Keith,

Thank you for your reply.

Where does one get $1000 for a next cube ?

I have a Compupro S-100 bus machine that, I understand, was the Duesenberg
of it's day, circa late '70's :-) and was wondering what it might bring. It
is multiuser and multitasking and runs DOS and CPM/86, has a hard drive, 8"
& 5" floppies, several terminals, etc....all of which weighs a lot since it
has steel baked enamel cabinets, etc. It's harddrive in a separate cabinet
is hard to lift, is 40mb and, alone, originally cost $5K. It has not only
user docs, but schematics, etc...

Remarkable what 25 yrs have wrought !

Courtney

Courtney,

I was surprised to find out that there is a market for vintage
computers. I did some searching and saw that a NeXT cube goes for
$1000.00. However, I'm more interested in them finding a loving home. I
make it a condition that if the new owner needs to get rid of them that
they have to find another collector. I hate to seen them end up in a
land fill. If that happens I would rather they be recycled. ;(
